Detectives from Kabega Park in Port Elizabeth arrested a 33-year-old man for the murder of his girlfriend’ in Rocklands.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said 34-year-old Vuyokazi Faba was killed on Monday.
She said the suspect allegedly dragged Faba out of a house and assaulted her with an axe. She died later in hospital.
Janse Van Rensburg said detectives got a tip-off and traveled to Port Alfred where the suspect was arrested at the home of a relative.
She said he is due in court on Thursday.
