Port Elizabeth police are investigating an armed robbery at the Sherwood Spar in which an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says the robbers struck shortly before six pm on Tuesday.
She says three suspects entered the store and one of them accosted a female employee.
The complainant was ushered into the manager’s office at gunpoint and ordered to open the safes and unpack the money bags.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the manager was then ordered to hand over his cellphone at gunpoint when he walked into the office.
The robbers emptied the tills on their way out and fled in a white VW Polo with no registration plates.
