Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 30-year-old suspect who was allegedly involved in the murder of a 66-year-old man from Kunene Park on the 10th of January.
Colonel Pricilla Naidu says a friend left Mark John Mullen after visiting him at his house in Arlington Street, and when Mullen's wife arrived home later that afternoon, she found him lying on the floor.
He had sustained multiple stab wounds.
Naidu says entrance into the house was gained through the lounge window.
Mullen was wheelchair-bound due to the loss of a leg.
During the investigation, information was received that on the day of the murder, a man was seen in the Kuyga area with bloodied clothing and a cellphone which he was trying to sell.
Naidu says police were on the hunt for this man, and on Friday, Kabega Park police arrested the suspect at a shack in Kuyga.
The suspect from Motherwell was charged with murder and robbery and will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's court on Monday.
