A seventh suspect, arrested for the murder of 26-year-old police constable Lonwabo Soga at Coffee Bay in early December, is expected to appear in the Mqanduli Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Ngcakani says the 30-year-old was arrested in Mqanduli on Friday by their Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit.
Four suspects were initially arrested on the 6th of December, three days after the deadly attack on constable Soga.
The fifth accused was arrested on the 11th of December at a hospital in Elliotdale.
During the arrest of the first four accused, police recovered ammunition and six firearms including the one belonging to the Constable Soga.
An assortment of police equipment including handcuffs, a reflector jacket and a hand radio were also found during the arrests.
All the suspects face charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
