Knysna police have made a breakthrough in their investigation into the murder of popular local businessman Mawande Kondlo.
Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says a 32-year-old man was arrested on Thursday following an extensive investigation since January this year.
The 46-year-old tour operator and restauranteur's body was found on the 17th of January next to a gravel road near the Uniondale Road turnoff known as Bokkopie.
Pojie says at the time an off-duty police officer discovered Kondlo's body with a single gunshot wound to the head.
His hands and legs were also tied with a cloth.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Knysna Magistrates Court on Friday where he will be charged with murder.
