Port Elizabeth police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the brutal murder of 24-year-old Salvana Seloane last month.
Her charred body was found at a dumping site in Van Duuren Street in Helenvale on 27 December.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said Gelvandale Detectives arrested the 31-year-old "gang member" at a house in Zimdahl Street on Friday morning.
She said more arrests are expected.
Naidu said he would appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates' Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
Meanwhile, in an earlier statement police said that a 27-year-old man taken into custody on the same day that Seloane's body was found was subsequently released pending further investigation.
