Suspect arrested after Queenstown post office heist

Eastern Cape police have shot dead one suspect and arrested another following an armed robbery at a Post Office near Queenstown.
Police warrant officer Namhla Mdleleni, says three suspects held up staff at gunpoint at Ilinge Post Office late on Monday afternoon and demanded money.
She says police were alerted and on arrival at the Post Office just outside Queenstown, a shoot-out ensued.
One suspect was fatally wounded, and a second arrested.
A third man managed to escape.
Mdleleni says police recovered an undisclosed sum of money that was stolen from the Post Office.
The suspect in custody will appear in court soon on charges of armed robbery and the illegal posession of a firearm and ammunition.
