A 49-year-old man is behind bars for the brutal murder of three Lesotho nationals.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said the arrest was made on Friday after the decomposed bodies of three men were found on Wednesday.
He said they were found in shallow water in a river in the Magadla Administrative Area in Maluti near the border with Lesotho and were identified by their clothes.
Tonjeni said that the men were reported missing in August already.
“It is believed that the three had been brutally assaulted for allegedly stealing livestock,” he said.
The suspect appeared in court on Friday where he was remanded in custody until next Tuesday.
Police said more arrests are expected
