A 37-year-old man from Stutterheim appeared in the local Magistrates court for alleged fraud of nearly R20 million.
Dean Palmer, who was employed as a cash sales manager at a timber manufacturing company in town, was arrested on Monday.
Spokesperson Captain Anelisa Feni says it is alleged that Palmer misappropriated company funds, submitted and captured fake delivery notes and false information pertaining to the volumes, lengths, and grade of timber that was sold to clients.
He was granted bail of R5 000 and is expected back in court on the 15th of February.
