Health officials are still in shock following an armed robbery at the Letaba Hospital residence in Limpopo.
Three doctor's were shot and injured which resulted in a direct impact on their 24-hour health care.
The MEC for Health in the Province Dr Phophi Ramathuba, who visited the hospital shortly after the shooting, said the healthcare system was under attack and needed the help of crime intelligence.
Police have now launched a manhunt for those responsible.
According to police the robbery took place n the early hours of the morning while the doctor's were asleep with their spouses.
In both robberies the men were shot before the suspects escaped with TV sets, laptops, phones and money.
In the second robbery the doctor's wife was stabbed with a sharp object.
