A man who was shot after police fired rubber bullets at a protest in Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape has died.
A Spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) Moses Dlamini said a full investigation will be launched.
The victim, who is yet to be named, died in hospital on Wednesday morning.
Police was forced to fire rubber bullets when more than 100 protesters took to the streets setting fire to buildings.
Police Spokesperson Siphokazi Mawiza said protesters were back on the streets of Stutterheim on Wednesday morning burning shops at a mall in the Lungisa Township.
People are reportedly upset about the unemployment in town.
