Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 25-year-old NMU student for reckless and negligent driving.
He's due to appear in court on Wednesday following the weekend incident in which a video went viral of a motorist performing a number of hair-raising and dangerous wheel spinning and hand-brake manoeuvres on Beach Road.
It subsequently emerged that the car had been rented by the suspect's friend.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the student was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after the DA opened a criminal case against the driver at the Humewood police.
He was released on warning and told to appear in court on Wednesday.
