A Tanzanian national has drowned after allegedly jumping into the water in the Port of Port Elizabeth to escape security personnel.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says a second foreign national was taken into custody.
He says the incident took place on Thursday night.
Labans says the victim was 25 years old.
Its suspected that the pair may have stowed away on one of the vessels in the harbour.
