Where will I live?
You will first go to the academy where you will be trained for four months with your new handler who will become your partner in the fight against crime.
What are all the different courses on offer at the academy?
Depending on your talents and temperament you could be enrolled in any of the following disciplines:
Explosives and detection of firearms and ammunition; patrolling where you get the chance to apprehend suspects; sniffing out narcotics, protecting endangered plants and species; fire investigations; tracking suspects who are hiding or ran away; search and rescue; currency detection and detecting biological body fluids like blood, semen, urine and saliva.
Will I get paid for being a good dog?
No, but your training will cost about R80 000!
