Port Elizabeth police say they are investigating a source, whose tip-off led to the recovery of twelve luxury watches at the city's airport on Wednesday.
Captain Stanley Jarvis says the watches, worth around R500 000, were wrapped in plastic, and hidden in a toilet's cistern.
He has confirmed that the watches were stolen during a heist at Fisher's Jewellers at the Boardwalk last Thursday night.
Jarvis says the source is unknown, and the tip-off was made telephonically.
