The prosecution in the fraud and money laundering case involving more than ten people, including the former Buffalo City Mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha, is ready to proceed with the trial.
Some of the accused, excluding Ncitha and others, appeared before the East London Regional Court on Monday.
The accused were arrested in 2014 following the alleged mismanagement of a R10m transportation tender for the late former SA President, Nelson Mandela's memorial service in 2013.
Magistrate, Sadia Jacobs, said there would be a pre-trial conference to check if all the evidence has been gathered at their next appearance on the 7th of March.
Ncitha is currently a member of the National Council of Provinces and Tinta is now a member of the Eastern Cape provincial Legislature.
All of the accused have been out on bail since their arrest.
