Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, received a state of the art school built with private sector funds on Wednesday.
The R45-million Mandela Park Primary School in Slovo Park, Mthatha, was built with contributions from steel company, Arcelor Mittal South Africa.
The Department of Basic Education says the school boasts top of the range equipment and facilities.
The Department says the light, steel weight building comprises a laboratory, media centre and computer room, a fully equipped nutritional centre as well as two sports grounds.
