A state prosecutor has given the first clear indication that the body of a man found buried in a hole on the N-2 near Bluwater Bay outside Port Elizabeth earlier this month, could be that that of 37-year old Chinese interpreter Zhi Duan Haung.
State prosecutor, Andre Kirshner, said that there is strong prima facie evidence that the decapitated body is that of the deceased.
This came to light during court proceedings on Tuesday where two Chinese nationals accused of Huang's murder are applying for bail.
Charges against a third accused have been withdrawn.
In opposing the bail application, Kirshner told the court that witnesses feared for their lives after receiving death threats and that the accused were flight risks.
He added that other suspects are still at large.
The matter was postponed to the 3rd of November when the state is expected to call a witness.
