Flight sergeant Frederick Gordon appeared again in the PE Magistrate's court on Wednesday morning.
He was found guilty earlier this year of brutally assaulting his wife Avril and holding her captive in their Forest Hill Flat.
Gordon told the court he wanted to call a man he last saw 27 years ago as a character witness during pre-sentencing proceedings.
He also included Avril's late mother - Ava - on his list of more than 50 character witnesses.
Gordon accused the editors of YOU magazine of publishing pre fabricated stories during his trial.
The State prosecutor accused Gordon of "playing hide and seek" with the court.
A handful of witnesses from the air force testified this morning as character witnesses.
The case was postponed to 17th January so that 7 other character witnesses can testify.
Gordon will remain in custody at St Albans Prison.
