A Passion for rugby, a signed rugby jersey and the spirit of Ubuntu played itself out this past weekend at the Seven's tournament Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this past weekend.
A former professional rugby player for Western Province Rito Hlungwani made friends with a ten year old boy and his family after they accidentally sat on their seats.
Rito, who knows some of the players offered to have JD van Loggenberg's jersey signed, but after the game they lost contact.
Rito phoned Algoafm news from Cape Town on Wednesday morning to ask our help in tracking down this young boy.
" My friends and I sat next to two gentlemen and a young boy. The boy was looking for an autograph from the springboks. We took his top and gave it to Hugh who is the springbok physio, who said he would return the shirt to us the following day. I gave the father my cell number and told him to contact me the following day which he never did. I`m hoping I didn't give him the wrong number I have attached a picture that I got off my PVR and it has the boy standing next to my friend on the bottom left corner and I have found some pictures that one of my friends took of the uncle. We would really like the boy to get his top back. It would be great if you could assist us"....Rito said.
We posted pics on our Facebook page and within minutes we managed to track down JD's mother Amanda...
She was absolutely elated and said her son was confident that he would get his jersey, because Rito promised!!!!!
