The four prisoners who made a daring escape while being transported to St Albans in December was sentenced in the Gelvendale magistrate's court.
Ettiene Andrews, Marco Tiervlei, Justin Bramwell and William Kleinbooi were all sentenced to three years direct imprisonment.
The four made headlines when they escaped through the roof of police truck that was en route to St Albans.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says immediately after the escape a task team was established and within 11 hours all four were re-arrested.
A sergeant and a constable were transporting the prisoners back to St Albans on the 27th of December when they heard loud banging noises coming from the back of the truck.
They then saw the suspects fleeing off the roof of the vehicle into nearby bushes.
