The adjudication of tenders for this year's Splash Festival, scheduled for the Easter weekend, will take place on Tuesday afternoon.
That's the word from the executive director for economic development and recreational services, Zolile Siswana, after expiry of the closing date for tenders on Monday.
Siswana told Algoa FM News that the adjudication meeting will take place at three o'clock.
But, the delays in awarding the tender for the annual event just days away, was strongly criticised by DA caucus leader in the Nelson Mandela Bay Council, Leon de Villiers.
"It is totally unacceptable and a disgrace that we are treating such a festival with such incompetence, because it is a very important event that has been going on in this metro for 20 years now and the jobs that it can create and the excitement and buzz for our visitors certainly cannot be there at such short notice" he said.
