Speedster arrested on N2 near Witteklip

A Provincial Traffic Officer based at Struandale in Port Elizabeth has arrested a motorist for driving at 182 kilometres an hour in a 120 km/h zone on the N2 near Witteklip.

Provincial Traffic deputy director Charles Bramwell says the driver failed to stop and was chased down by officers in a Ford ST patrol vehicle.

Bramwell says the motorist was driving a Toyota Etios and thought he could outrun the officers.

The driver is being detained at the Kabega Park police station, pending his court appearance.
