The King Williams Town SPCA has had a major influx of animals after assisting the Amahlati branch with the evacuation of their animals due to violent riots in the Stutterheim area.
This has been at a huge cost to them and they are now in dire need of dog and cat food.
Spokesperson, Annette Rademeyer said they had no choice but to draw funds from their reserves.
She humbly requests the generous assistance of the public in order to keep the animals healthy and happy.
The riots in Stutterheim, which started in October, has left the town in shambles with several municipal buildings destroyed.
Police have arrested more than 20 people since the violence started.
