Two employees of Spar appeared in the Ngqeleni Magistrate's Court in the Eastern Cape in connection with an armed robbery at the local supermarket.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant-colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, says 40-year-old assistant manger, Sandile Silwana, and 28-year-old clerk, Nomonde Mantame, were denied bail on Wednesday.
The two were arrested on Tuesday following an armed robbery on the 29th of June in which more than R200 000 was taken from the supermarket.
Fatyela says police believe the two were in cahoots with the robbery gang.
He says they will appear in court again next Thursday.
