The SOS Children's Village is appealing for help to ease the water crisis affecting the home in Schauderville, Port Elizabeth.
The water supply to the home and some parts of Schauderville has been erratic over the past month and according to Mandy Spies of SOS Children's Village they have had no water for the past two days.
On Monday the municipality replaced a valve in the hope of solving the problem, but Spies told Algoa FM News that they were still without water and are "stuggling".
"We've got 110 children that live with us, we've got 40 staff members on our premises permanently and in our kindergarten we have about 75 little ones. They are all dependent on water. We haven't had water for two days and its really making life difficult for us," she said.
"We appeal to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality to consider the situation as urgent and it is negatively impacting on the living conditions of the children in our care: and we urge the Nelson Mandela Metro Municipality to reach a speedy resolution, Spies said.
