The Port Elizabeth Weather office has welcomed the overnight rainfalls in and across the Nelson Mandela Bay and surrounding areas.
Spokesperson, Garth Sampson, says 9mm of rain has been measured at the PE airport overnight, while a good 20mm was measured at the 3rd avenue dip until 8 am on Wednesday morning.
He says this brings the total for the airport to 20mm and 40mm for the dip since the weekend.
Sampson says rain over the catchment areas was just as nice, with 24mm measured at Jourbetina.
He says further afield, a total of 36mm was measured at East London and 26mm for Port Alfred, while a total of 11mm was recorded at George.
