Police in Port Elizabeth have arrested a Somalian National after he allegedly shot a 30 year old man during an altercation in New Brighton yesterday afternoon.
Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Thembi Gwe says police had to evacuate ten Somalian shop owners on Saturday as they feared for their safety.
Meanwhile about 40 residents raided a Spaza shop of food and money after they assaulted the owner.
Gwe says there is currently a strong police presence in the area after a shop and car was burnt to the ground.
