Six young adults killed in two accidents in the EC

Five people have been killed in a head on collision on the N2 outside Stormsriver on Sunday morning.

Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says a Colt Bakkie and Volkswagen Polo crashed head on at about 5am by the Coldstream turnoff.

The 35 year old driver of the bakkie and the driver of the Polo and two of the passengers died on impact.

They were all in their twenties.

One passenger survived the accident and was taken to Kareedouw hospital.

The names of the deceased are not yet known.

Meanwhile A 24 year old woman from Port Elizabeth was killed in an accident in the early hours Sunday morning, after she lost control of her Volkswagen Polo.

Swart says the accident happened at about 1am in Cuyler street in Uitenhage.

One female passenger survived the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The name of the deceased is not yet known.
