All suspects arrested after shocking murder in Grahamstown

Police in Grahamstown have arrested four suspects following Saturday's murder in Vukani which they described as shocking.

Spokesperson Captain Mali Govender says to men aged 34 and 44 were arrested on Saturday night, and two men, both in their twenties were arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning

A woman in her thirties and four young girls between the ages of 8 and 19 were sleeping when the suspects broke into their home and asked for money.

The older woman was beaten with a hammer, raped and strangled before they tied up the 15 year old and stabbed her in the head.

The men will appear in court soon where they will be charged with murder, attempted murder, rape and robbery.
