Somalian man arrested for being in possession of counterfeit money

 A 24 year old Somalian man has been arrested by Alicedale police for being in possession of counterfeit money.

Police spokesperson, captain Mali Govender says the suspect's vehicle was stopped and searched on Wednesday night.

She says a plastic bag containing light grey paper, resembling 100 rand notes, was hidden in the canopy.

Govender says all of these had the same serial number and some were stained with powder.

Police confiscated 249 notes as well as a computer box.

The man will appear in court soon.
