The recent rain and snow in the Eastern Cape have put a strain on Eskom's infrastructure.
The South African Weather Services (SAWS) on Wednesday issued a Level 5 snow warning across large parts of the Province.
Eskom says their network has been heavily affected in the rural areas, especially in Tsolo, Qumbu and Matatiele.
Technicians are struggling to access certain areas due to wet roads and low lying bridges which heightens the risk.
Eskom who also implemented Stage 2 loadshedding for most of this week asked for affected communities to be patient during this period.
