Hankey detectives have arrested four suspects for the murder of a 41-year-old woman and a six year old girl.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei, says their bodies were found in a house in Rosedale in Hankey on Sunday morning by neighbours who alerted the police.
He says the woman had been stabbed to death while the child had been strangled.
Seekoei says their house was also set alight after the incident.
He says two men and two women were arrested.
The motive for the murders is not known but Seekoei says more arrests are expected.
The suspects will appear in court on Tuesday on charges of murder and arson.
