Six people have died after three separate accidents on the Eastern Cape roads in the past 24 hours.
Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Elmarie van Eck says four people died on Saturday after the bakkie they were travelling in swerved out for a kudu.
The bakkie was transporting passengers and a coffin and they were reportedly on their way to Mthata.
Five people sustained serious injuries.
In the second accident one person died in a head on collision on the N2 between Mthata and Tsolo.
In the third accident a truck driver lost control of his vehicle on the N10 between Patterson and Cookhouse. The truck caught fire a the driver burned to death
