Beaches in Jeffreys Bay will remain closed for the rest of the weekend following Friday's fatal shark attack at "The Point"
The 73 year old Burgert van der Westhuizen died after being bitten by a great white shark.
Spokesperson for the Kouga Municipality Laura Leigh Randall says after consulting with the NSRI, Wildlife Society and a local shark expert they decided to keep the beaches closed and re-assess the situation on Monday.
Lifeguards will remain on duty at Dolphin Beach and a shark warning flag was raised.
Randall says people who go into the ocean will do so at their own risk.
