Six people were killed and nine injured following a head-on collision between two minibus taxis on the N9.
Provincial Traffic Spokesperson Unathi Binqose says the accident happened at about 10 pm on Thursday on the road between Graaff-Reinet and Aberdeen.
He says one taxi had 14 passengers travelling from Graaff-Reinet towards Cape Town while the other taxi had no passengers, only the driver.
It is alleged that reckless and negligent driving and fatigue contributed to the accident.
Three men and three women were killed in the accident.
Binqose says one of the survivors was a nine-month-old baby.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
