Six men arrested by the Hawks in East London on drug charges, will apply for bail when they appear in court on Monday.
Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Captain Anelisa Feni, said that suspects include five foreign nationals and a South African.
She said they were arrested on Wednesday in Quigney, in East London, for selling cocaine to undercover agents in a sting operation.
“Members received information that these six suspects were selling a variety of drugs in Quigney, East London. The Hawks and Crime Intelligence then conducted an undercover operation from 6 to 15 June 2017 which saw the six accused selling cocaine to undercover agents,” she said.
Feni said “members of the Tactical Response Team assisted the two units in conducting the arrests on Wednesday.”
“All six accused remain in custody and will appear again on Monday for a formal bail application,” she said.
