A manhunt is underway for six dangerous inmates who escaped from the SADA Correctional Centre in Komani.
The awaiting-trial inmates escaped in the early hours of Friday morning.
Provincial Correctional Services’ spokesperson, Nobuntu Gantana, said an investigation on how they escaped was still underway.
Lundi Mzimkhulu , Khanyiso Dlali, Sibusiso William Nzuza, Siyabulela Mtshobi, Lebohang Wellem and Kuhle Kibi were being held for various crimes including murder, robbery, the pointing of a firearm and housebreaking.
Gantana has urged the public not to try and apprehend the escapees as they are considered dangerous.
