Port Elizabeth police have opened an armed robbery case following an incident outside FNB in Cape Road.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says it's alleged that five suspects in two cars followed a man to the bank on Thursday afternoon.
He says as the man made his way into the bank, shots went off.
Labans says the unidentified man suffered a slight injury during the incident.
The suspects fled empty-handed in a Ford Focus and a Ford Fiesta, both with Gauteng number plates.
They are still at large.
