Port Elizabeth police have arrested three suspects following a dramatic robbery and shoot-out in North End.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans, says about nine men entered the Pier 14 shopping centre on Tuesday morning where they overpowered a security guard at Sterns Jewellers.
He says they took a handbag from one of the assistants, broke a glass counter and removed jewellery before fleeing on foot.
Labans says police, who were quickly on the scene, pursued the men into Lavinia and Green Streets where a shoot-out occurred.
