Human Settlements Minister, Tokyo Sexwale, was met by protesters when he arrived in Nelson Mandela Bay to officially launch a subsidised housing and rental programme.
Disgruntled residents of Walmer township complained that government was taking care of the have's and not the have not's in introducing its Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme, known as Flisp.
Following a brief meeting with Sexwale, the protesters said they were not entirely convinced that anything would be done, but they did agree to give the Minister seven days to respond to their demands for housing for Walmer township residents.
