EP Kings head coach, Matt Sexton, is returning home to New Zealand a year ahead of the conclusion of his contract.
Sexton, who has been with Eastern Province Rugby since June 2012, will finish up at the union this month, has decided to return home for personal reasons.
"This has been a very difficult decision for me, but due to personal reasons, I have had to make the difficult choice to return home to my family in New Zealand. The circumstances back home requires me to be there" he said.
Sexton, who will return to New Zealand with his family, said he enjoyed his stay in South Africa and working with the Southern and EP Kings over the past two years.
EP Rugby CEO, Charl Crous, said that Sexton had been contracted with the Union until the end of 2014, and had been looking to extend his contract through to 2015.
"Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Matt's time with EP Rugby has come to an early end, but we support him wholeheartedly with his move back to New Zealand," he said.
This week EP announced the appointment of another Kiwi, Carlos Spencer, to the coaching ranks on a five year contract from next year.
Spencer will focus on the back line as well as skills training for the team.
