Elderly woman found in freezer identified

 Eastern Cape police have identified the elderly woman who's body was found in her home in Aliwal North this week.

Captain Ursula Roelofse says the murdered woman was 73-year-old Margretha Maartins.

A man handed himself over to police on Thursday and further investigation led them to the woman's body which had been placed in a freezer.

The suspect, who used to help the woman in her garden, will appear in court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.
