Severe storm causes havoc in parts of the Eastern Cape

A severe storm hit parts of the Sarah Baartman District Municipality in the Eastern Cape on Friday afternoon.

District Disaster Management spokesperson, Mandisa Nohashe says at least 12 houses were damaged, after the storm hit the Jansenville, Somerset East and Alicedale areas.

She says disaster management teams have been deployed to conduct a survey of the damage, adding that water and power supply to certain communities, especially in the Blue Crane local municipality are affected.
