The Democratic Alliance says it has found severe shortages of medicine stocks at Port Elizabeth's Livingstone Hospital.
DA spokesperson on Health, Dr Wilmot James, says they undertook an oversight visit to the hospital this week.
He says during the visit they found that Livingstone was short of syringes, multi-drug resistance TB drugs as well the shortage of other drugs.
He says he will be writing to the Health Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, to intervene immediately and ensure that the hospital is properly stocked.
