At least 5 people were killed in an accident between a bakkie and a truck on the R67 just north of Fort Beaufort early on Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson for Community Safety Renaissance, Tshepo Machaea says the bakkie, transporting school children, collided with the truck.
He says the road has been closed, and will be re-opened after the accident scene had been cleared.
Machaea says it appears as if all the victims were children.
