Seven year old drowns in Kareedouw dam

 A 7 year old boy who went swimming with his 6 year old friend has drowned in a dam in Kareedouw on Friday afternoon.

Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says the 7 year old Keletso Rykdom disappeared under the water and was not seen again.

His friend ran home to call for help.

Police divers managed to discover his body on Saturday morning.

Police want to send a strong message to the community at large not to let young children swim unsupervised
