Seven people perish in two EC crashes

Eastern Cape transport authorities said seven people were killed in two separate accidents on Saturday night.

Provincial spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, said four people were killed when a light delivery vehicle hit a cow on the N6 between Queenstown and Jamestown.

He said a man and three women died in the crash near Lesseyton.

Bramwell said the second accident was reported at around 11 pm near Nanaga where a single vehicle overturned killing three people.

He said the SAPS and the Road Traffic Management Authority would be conducting further investigations.

Eastern Cape Transport MEC, Weziwe Tikana, has expressed her condolences to the families of the deceased.
