One person has been killed in an accident on the R-72 between Alexandria and the Nanaga interchange.
Eastern Cape transport department spokesperson, Tsepo Machaya, says a truck and a car collided earlier Monday morning.
He says its not yet known how many people were injured.
Meanwhile, six people including a child, were killed this morning when a mini-bus taxi oveturned near Diepsloot, Soweto.
Netcare 911's Jeffrey Wicks says the minibus hit a barrier before overturning and rolling several times.
He says occupants of the minibus were flung from the wreckage as it rolled.
One of the injured said the passengers in the taxi were sangomas on their way to a ritual in Zandspruit. Matobako said two goats and a chicken were also inside the taxi. The goats were killed in the accident.
The animal were removed from the wreck by the SPCA.
