Seven people have been killed in an accident on the R-63 between Bhisho and Khomga in the Eastern Cape.

Monday morning's accident brings to 24, the number of people killed in three accidents reported country-wide this weekend.

Ten people returning from a traditional reed dance were killed in an accident involving a bus in Melmoth in Kwazulu Natal on Sunday.

Meanwhile, seven people died in a five vehicle collision on the N-6 between Reddersburg and Bloemfontein also on Sunday.
